Gloria Yu is a designer, sustainable fashion advocate, brand manager and content creator.
Gloria Yu graduated from Parsons The New School for Design in 2014, launching her label Yunotme in the same year — a line of luxury headbands and headpieces which celebrates feminine charm and empowerment. It went on to be featured in numerous international publications such as Harpers Bazaar, V, Vogue, Marie Claire and Elle, and stocked in stores such as Net-A-Porter.com, Moda Operandi and Lane Crawford.
Her aspirations to help create a more positive and kinder industry eventually led her to focus on roles that could influence fashion businesses to become more sustainable. She has consulted with luxury retailer Lane Crawford on their sustainability strategy, and currently she leads Lane Crawford Joyce Group's social initiative LUXARITY. She also dedicates her love of visual storytelling to creating content about ideas and causes she believes in, particularly those related to artistic innovation, sustainable business development and women's rights.
From 2009-2017, Gloria Yu wrote weekly columns for Hong Kong newspaper The Standard on topics pertaining to sociopolitical ethics in fashion, art and business. She now writes and creates content on a freelance basis. Read more of her writing here.
